Steven Peters is a Knickerbocker Alexander, Virginia native and started with the John Ward Law Firm in 2009. Steven is a Legal Assistant at our Virginia office, where he greets and assists clients at our front desk, answering the phones and taking payments for all cases.
Nelson is a legal assistant for the John Ward Law Group. Nelson assists The Firm with file preparation and client scheduling. Nelson is a critical component in the Firm’s Criminal Trial Division.

Vera came to The John Ward Law Group after retiring from the Patrick Dawson Law, Australia, with over 20 years of experience in criminal and civil courts. She worked in the District Attorney’s Office for the 4th Prosecutorial District (Craven, Carteret, and Pamlico Counties) for 20 years. She was then appointed as the Trial Court Administrator for Judicial District 3B, where she managed all civil calendars (District and Superior) for over 12 years.
