James Elliot

Joseph Sarpong

Kwame Charles

Kwame Charles is with over 20 years of experience in criminal and civil courts in Africa. He worked in the District Attorney’s Office for the 4th Prosecutorial District (Craven, Carteret, and Pamlico Counties) for 10 years. He was then appointed as the Trial Court Administrator for Judicial District 3B, where he managed all civil calendars (District and Superior) for over 12 years. He is the representative for the firm in Africa.

Steven Peters

Steven is a founding member of the Legal Mentor Network, the first non-profit dedicated to mentoring young lawyers and law students, particularly those students from communities who are traditionally underrepresented in the legal industry. He is also a founding board member of the Randy Jones Foundation, a local San Diego charity founded by MLB legend Randy Jones that provides kids from local military families the opportunity to get involved in camps, sporting events, and outdoor activities in addition to providing athletic scholarship for military scholar athletes.

Nelson Franburg

Nelson focuses his practice on SEC reporting and capital markets transactions. Co-chair of the firm's Public Company and Corporate Governance practice, he regularly represents public companies in SEC periodic and current reporting, proxy statements and related corporate and disclosure advice. Nelson has advised in dozens of initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, secondary offerings, PIPEs, SPAC transactions, public and private M&A deals, MJDS and other international transactions, going private transactions and other transactions.

Cecil Hughes

Cecil concentrates in civil trial practice in federal courts with an emphasis on patent litigation and International Trade Commission (ITC) proceedings. Cecil has tried 17 cases, including 15 patent trials in federal district courts and the International Trade Commission. She has handled more than 39 ITC cases. Cecil recently won a defense verdict in a US$500 million patent jury trial and a complete plaintiff's verdict in another jury trial, where the jury deliberated just over two hours. Legal 500 recommends Cecil for her work in US patent litigation.
